Roofing Tips for Springtime

Spring is on it's way and and it is time to make sure your roof is ready for the rain that is on it's way.

Throughout the winter, snow and ice may have damaged your roofing.   Large sticks, pine needles, leaves  and debris are also found on roofing after the snow and ice have melted.  So, you can inspect a newer roof from the ground by using a pair of bioculars.  You can get on your roof to inspect it and also to remove any debris but be careful and have another person with you.  If you feel it is necessary to climb up on your roof and do not feel comfortable doing that, most roofing companies offer roof inspection.

If debris remains on your roof, you risk possible roof damage that can cause water damage inside your home. Clogged gutters and venting stacks will likely cause water damage or ecessive moisture in your attic.

2. Check For Roof Damage.
Check your roof for missing shingles or shingles that are buckling or appear to be very worn.  Flashing that is missing or torn may need some attention.; You do not want rainwater to get into places it should not be .

3. Check Your Attic For Holes.
Taking a look at your roof from inside your attic is simple and can save you a lot of future headaches. You will be looking for any dripping water, standing water or dampness.  Check also along your roof's peak also.

4. Fix Any Damage.
Some roof damage will be simple enough to fix on your own but, get it done even if you choose to hire a roofing professional.  A ittle bit of maintenance to your roof goes a long way in extending the life of your roof and shingles.
